4 and 1

Last year, Henry celebrated his third birthday in the hospital, with a new baby sister as his big birthday present.

This year, we invited a few more people over and made it into a real party, complete with pinata.

From my perspective, having children who share a birthday is a decided advantage. One bout of birthday-present-shopping, a combined party, and only half the work! Perfect! We will see if Henry and Violet agree in the future.

I should post a full status report on the kids sometime, but for now, suffice it to say that Violet is a sweet, talkative, and cuddly handful-of-a-1-year-old, and Henry is a thoughtful, logical, and sometimes stubborn 4-year-old. I love them both so much, and enjoy watching them grow and their personalities develop. I am very blessed.
